Collection report autumn/winter 2008/2009

Outstanding quality

Outstanding quality is the essence of the collection by the Mönchengladbach-based fashion company ALBERTO for the autumn/winter season 2008/09. ALBERTO is expanding its competence in the field of men’s trousers with elaborate production processes and high-quality materials.

3 x 3 – The concept behind the trouser collection:

To facilitate quick and easy customer orientation in the extensive ALBERTO line, and to help retailers maintain a good overview during purchasing and customer advising, the collection has been structured in a clear 3x3-pillar system: three types of trousers and three fit variants guide you through the range.

The categories:

The ALBERTO categories consist of dressy trousers, casual trousers and jeans. Dressy trousers include elegant legwear for business and leisure-time such as the classic Ceramica models with new, more advanced features, luxurious wool looks and high-quality cotton slacks. The name says it all in the casual trouser category; this group is dominated by cotton pieces in casual styles and washes. In addition to a wide range of coloured denims, jeans also come in blacks and greys. Masculine washes with authentic finishes and destroyed effects are the most popular. The jeans segment is rounded off by pieces suitable for businesswear – sophisticated denims for pairing with a shirt and sports jacket. In addition, ALBERTO offers a NOS (Never-Out-of-Stock) program in the COMFORT-FIT and MODERN-FIT lines, available year round in some cases. The popular Ceramicas with their non-creasing, UV-resistant and temperature-balancing properties are among the best-sellers.

The fits:

COMFORT-FIT, featuring loose-fitting models with a comfortably waist height and casual leg width, is the most popular style in the dressy trousers segment. MODERN-FIT includes styles with a lower waist and contemporary silhouette often made of cotton or denim. The stylish SLIM-FIT cut is characterised by low waists and a figure-fitting silhouette with a 40-cm foot opening. This fit is available both in dressy trousers as well as denims.

The themes

Jeans The denim models feature not just one but two highlights in pure, masculine style: T400 Revolution denim and red selvedge denim illustrate the collection’s high standards. T400 is the new best-seller for the men’s trouser specialist. In denims in particular, this technical fibre prevents the knee area from bulging, provides unparalleled wearing comfort and does not stain. The range of Japanese denims has been expanded to include a red selvedge woven on a 75-cm loom. Coloured denims come in warm earth tones ranging from camel to dark brown as well as cool hues extending from dark blue through blue-black and silver grey to black. The denim collection is characterised by especially striking, high-quality yarns. ALBERTO also attaches great importance to small details, as evidenced by the fine workmanship with lavish waistbands, special rivets and buttons and authentic leather labelling that add the finishing touches to these luxurious denims.

Casual trousers - cotton
In cottons, this season’s favourites include wools and corduroys. Wool is always an important theme in the winter. However, the care and feel of pure wool are not suitable for everyone. This is why ALBERTO is offering especially soft cotton in a rugged wool look. Traditional, classic fishbone pattern, fil-à-fil or gabardine add the perfect touches to wintry chalet chic. One true classic that should be a part of every autumn wardrobe is corduroy. ALBERTO offers three corduroy pieces: a sporty, slim-fitting 5-pocket model, bi-colour trousers and a fine corduroy variant. These ALBERTO trousers will impress wearers from the very first time they touch the material. Pima cotton is the key to extra-soft, luxurious fabrics.

Dressy trousers - Ceramica
Temperature-balancing Cermicas are ready for winter in contemporary wool looks and slim cuts. Herringbone and pinstripes are the most popular trends in patterns. Half of all the Ceramicas are made of cotton, flaunting a sense of pure casualness in solid-colour models.

Dressy trousers - Techno The Techno models add a touch of sophisticated shine to dark winter days. A small series of cotton satins, naturally in the colours of the night – black, anthracite and deep blue – make a real fashion statement and create a delicious sense of anticipation for New Year’s Eve.

Dressy trousers - wool
Stripes, tricotines and bi-flex wool are the leaders in the wool segment. Wool-lovers will be delighted to learn that all wool pieces are easy-care, meaning they can be put in the washing machine.

Styles

The lion’s share of the collection is formed by a range of 5-pocket trousers in all three of the pillars. Tone-in-tone stitching, carefully crafted buttons and rivets as well as tasteful labelling clearly signify the high quality of these models. In the MODERN-FIT segment, striking yarns have been used on the seat pockets, ticket pocket and side seams. In addition to the 5-pocket models, ALBERTO offers handsome slacks which are also available in high-quality cotton fabrics as luxury chinos. In the SLIM-FIT category, slacks made of high-tech fibres have a slight shine while others come in rugged wool denim.

The colours

This winter is dominated by the beautiful non-colour black. Together with the shades of grey found in the denims as well as a wide spectrum of earthy and brown nuances, the ALBERTO colour palette conveys a sense of true elegance, understatement and purism.

ALBERTO has a long history of tradition behind it. The brand has specialised in making men’s trousers since 1922. In that time, the company has proved what is needed for creating high-quality, contemporary fashion: the experience of three generations of precision workmanship combined with technological innovation and a marked feel for trends as well as select materials and special attention to every detail. In short: a creation process that reflects the superior character of the trousers right from the start. No more, but not the slightest bit less either.
